The Big Island has two main airports: Kona and Hilo. We recommend flying into Kona (KOA), which is about 40 minutes from Kamuela. Kona receives direct flights from several mainland cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Denver, and Phoenix, with carriers such as Alaska Airlines, Delta, United, American, and Southwest. If a direct flight isn't available from your city, Honolulu (HNL) is the most common connecting hub, with short inter-island flights to Kona via Hawaiian Airlines.

Rental cars are highly recommended, as the island is large and public transportation is limited.
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty are all options at Kona International Airport (KOA). See here for their phone numbers and hours.

When it comes to hotels, we recommend staying at one of the many resorts in Waikoloa and Mauna Lani. Waikoloa has the Marriott and the Hilton, and Mauna Lani has the Auberge and the Fairmont. All are great options, but we’ve reserved a block of rooms at the ______ and the ______.
If you would like to book a room in the block, ______.

There are a ton of options when it comes to rental housing. Homes and condos in Mauna Lani will be the closest to the wedding venue and near the water. Waikoloa is about 10 minutes from the venue and near the water as well. Waikoloa Village is up the hill, but offers a better value than most places in Waikoloa or Mauna Lani.
If you’re looking to group up with other wedding guest and share a rental house, let us know! We can match people up where possible.

If you’re looking for groceries, try KTA in Waikoloa Village, Foodland in Mauna Lani, or Foodland in Waimea. You can also check out Island Gourmet in Waikoloa, but it’s a bit more expensive with a limited selection.

In addition to the wedding festivities, there’s plenty to do on the Big Island

We are not registering for gifts. In lieu of gifts, we ask that guests consider sharing their favorite recipe (food, drink, dessert) with us. Please consider handwriting—we are excited to compile these into a recipe book to keep in our home.
